Catania's most stirring religious feast is dedicated the city's holy patron, the young martyr Agatha. At the beginning of February the city is transformed and becomes a theatre rich in decorations, lights, votive fireworks, sounds and colours. Indeed, because it is impossible to speak of Catania without dealing with the santuzza,  we have chosen to mark the most significant cities linked to the history and tradition of Saint Agatha. Opere rare e di pregio in Mostra per Sant'Agata di mezz'agostoCatania, Mid-August Saint Agatha's Feast- Come to the summer celebrations.

To celebrate the "homecoming" of the Sant'Agatha's relics from Costantinople on August 17th- 1126, will be hold an High Mass and a procession with the precious bust of Saint'Agata, containing part of holy body covered by numerous jewels as "ex voto" donated by the devout citizens,the celebration will culminate with the fireworks and the return in Duomo.
